Toulouse branch

Created in 2022, the Toulouse branch advocates for unconditional welcome and access to information for exiled people. The project of creating the Watizat guide was accomplished quickly and with the help of many people from the Toulouse activist/associative field. The guide is edited and printed every two months, available in French, English and Spanish.

Our team :

The team is made up of around ten volunteers and continues to grow to meet the demand for the most accurate information possible in a context where the law, the reception system and the associative world are constantly evolving. We choose to base ourselves on a purely voluntary operation, with a distribution of tasks and responsibilities, and a desire for shared governance.

Our missions:

  • Information monitoring and guide updating: every two months, we contact the structures referenced in the guide to update their schedules, address and mode of operation. The guide is also constantly improved – in terms of content and graphics – in order to work on its accessibility.
  • Printing of the guide: every two months, the guides are printed/folded/stapled thanks to supportive printers and our volunteers.
  • Distribution of the guide to exiled people and to the structures which order it: as a team, we organize distributions of guides every month in different identified gathering places (food distributions, in front of the PASS, at the ‘Grand Ramier social space, etc.) During these distributions, we inform and guide people. The guide is also ordered in paper version by structures which use it on a daily basis in their work with exiled people.
  • Translation: The guide currently also exists in English and Spanish, thanks to the work of volunteers who worked to offer the best possible version, always with a desire for accessibility of information. Arabic is the next language we plan to translate the guide into.
