Training Programs in Paris
What is this about ?
In order to improve access to information for displaced and exiled people, the Watizat association has developed, since 2021, the training program “Informing and Guiding Exiled People.”
Providing accurate information and guidance does not require advanced expertise in migration-related fields. What matters most is understanding the general framework in order to direct people to the right organizations and services.
Our training programs provide participants with strong foundational knowledge and help them feel confident in their ability to guide people effectively by using the right tools and resources.
Who Is It For ?
Our training programs are designed for volunteers, interns, civic service members, and — under certain conditions — employees of our partner organisations who work directly with displaced and exiled people.
All training sessions are conducted in person in Paris only.
4 Training Modules
INTRODUCTORY MODULE
EVENING SESSION – 2h30
- Different categories of beneficiaries
- Identifying asylum and social support actors
- Basics of the accommodation system
+ Introduction to the Watizat guide and key principles for providing information without being an expert
FULL DAY – 6h
- Detailed overview of the asylum procedure and its stages
- Key actors in the asylum system
- Presentation of the guide and other information tools
- Practical activities and case studies
DUBLIN PROCEDURE MODULE
HALF DAY – 4h
- Criteria of the Dublin III Regulation
- Overview of the procedure
- Understanding appeals against transfer decisions
- Practical activities and case studies
UNACCOMPANIED MINORS MODULE
HALF DAY – 4h
- Pathways for unaccompanied minors in France: reception and child protection system (ASE)
- Appeals before the juvenile court
- Practical activities and case studies

Registration
Registration for our training sessions is done online.

Calendar
Currently, only February and March sessions are listed. Information for the rest of the semester will be shared in the coming weeks. The calendar will be updated via the same link.
Where do the trainings take place?
All training sessions are held in person in Paris, at the Césure premises (5th arrondissement). The exact address and room details will be provided in the confirmation email.
